Rent Timeshare weeks 51 or 52 Christmas or New Year's week, as we own this fixed fifth floor ocean facing penthouse for both holiday weeks. There are only two 2 bedroom and two 3 bedroom penthouse suites in Villa del Arco. We plan to use the week we don't rent next year when the year ends on Dec 31. As elite members of the Villa del Arco resort, we can convert points for the best rooms during other weeks of the year at competitive prices -- just email and we can use our booked points for weeks up to 3 years in advance. Family friendly two bedroom luxury penthouse suite at the TripAdvisor 5-star Villa del Arco resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The resort sits on Medano Beach with a roped off, safe to swim sand beach. Our fixed week in Suite 1501 offer 1,577 sf of living space and a wraparound 865 sf terrace with stunning views of Medano Beach, the Sea of Cortez, Villa del Arco pool and the seaside dining areas. Directly outside the main living area is a well maintained jetted hot tub. The master suite, family room, dining room, kitchen and second bedroom all open to the terrace, which contains chaise lounges, cushion chairs and a large sun umbrella. We love the terrace as a place to read and talk, and to watch fireworks light up the sky for the New Year. The master has a king sized bed and jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom and bath suite contains two queen-sized beds. The living room has a pull down queen sized Murphy bed. We also own two floating weeks each year in a 2 bedroom ocean view suite. Medano Beach is the only safe and accessible beach in the area, as families struggle often with the rough surf on the Pacific side. The Villa Group Resort is meticulously well groomed and maintained. Guests can enjoy the restaurants on all three properties, including La Estancia and Villa del Palmar. A trolley bus runs every 5 - 10 minutes between hotels. The Palmita Market offers beer, wine and spirits, fresh milk and basic grocery items. Easily available taxis transport us to Costco five minutes away, making it easy to prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen. A gas grill is located on veranda for steak and burgers.
Glass bottomed boats and wave runners can be rented on the beach and Parasail companies pick up adventurers from shore. Take a quick ride to Lover's Beach at Land's End. Take a 20 minute walk, water taxi or $7 cab into town for dinner. Cabo Adventures provides a marvelous array of excursions. The Dolphin Swim is a newer attraction and proved worth the dollars, and we also booked a Dolphin Trainer for the Day excursion that was a fantastic value. We love taking the sedate sunset sailing cruise with the Tropicat. The Buccaneer can be fun for younger kids and pre-teens though it can be rowdy and less relaxed. Our favorite adventure in late December is whale watching with Cabo Adventures. Every year we experience unexpected nature encounters. One year, a pod of dolphins -- probably 20 in all -- exploded from the water in front of us and performed an acrobatic exhibition for about 20 minutes. Last year, we followed two humpback whales wrestling over the affections of an annoyed female. One year, we saw manta rays flying out of the water in a big crowd on the Pacific Side. Don't miss why Jacques Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez the World's Aquarium.
Dining is terrific. We eat breakfast every morning on property at El Patron where seaside tables and light breezes make breakfast an unparallelled experience -- it just never gets old. Dinner there has also become one of our favorites since the new chef was hired several years ago. During our 2014 trip, the restaurant's fish entries made this our favorite place to eat in Cabo. We ventured only to the Hacienda resort restaurant, between Villa del Arco and the marina, which still ranks as one of our favorite dining experiences in Cabo although first timers should not miss Mi Casa.
