Bansko is Bulgaria’s biggest ski resort with a skiing season lasting from mid December to mid May. The ski runs of all difficulty levels are located in two main ski centres, Chalin Valog (1100-1600 metres) and Shiligarnika (1700-2500 metres above sea level), on the northern slopes of the Pirin. They are easily accessible from Bansko within a 25 minute ride on the gondola lift. The first snowboard fun park on the Balkans can be found in the Shiligarnika ski area, where boarders can build their own jumps and every day skiers and boarders can take part in competitions.

The summer at Bansko offers a huge variety of outdoor opportunities with a great number of mountain bike routes, marked tourist routes, horse riding, Nordic walking and rafting tracks. For the final word in après ski the Bar Zero bar and night club stays open until 4 a.m. on certain nights during the winter ski season.
