All of Ka'anapali beach is relatively calm because it is on the west side
of Maui. If you want bigger waves, then go to the north side beaches or
the surfing spot near the airport (east side). The beach at Nanea is
beautiful sand and is well maintained to keep it free of driftwood and
trash. The snorkeling is some of the best if you take it slow. Usually, a
turtle or two will swim up of down the coast and occasionally a pod of
dolphins will cruise by late in the day. Even if you are just sitting on
the beach, the views are breathtaking, and you can catch sight of whales
in the season.

Beautiful beach. Sand. Some rocks in water. No need to protect feet.
Turtles and lots of fish, no need to take a snorkel cruise.
