We had a phenomenal time at Four Seasons Aviara. Perfect weather, an idealic environment, and an exceptionally welcoming staff made our stay most enjoyable. We had a one bedroom villa that was spacious and beautifully appointed; everything we could have possibly needed was there (from 10 aesthetic wine glasses in the kitchen cupboard to a gourmet knife set). The resort's multiple pools kept our pre-school daughter excited with new areas in which to explore and left my husband and me to taste-test tropical drinks in each location (Todd, at the hotel's main pools, makes and exceptional strawberry pina colada). If you have children, this is an extremely kid-friendly place. The Fours-Season's complimentary childcare service for children ages 4+ is a bonus and all of the restaurants are super accommodating to young ones.

We rented our villa from Edgar and Odette Santos who couldn't have ben more gracious in preparing us for our stay. From making certain the reservation was in order to answering a multitude of questions, Edgar and Odette were terrific.

    I couldn't ask for a better vacation!

rented a wk there, and to paraphase Dennis Greene, "It was what we thought it would be." Staff was excellent, all amenities first class (esp the golf course), and San Diego in December, wow! Inexpensive it isn't, but worth the cost. Argyle's restaurant in the golf course the best of the restaurant litter, we tried them all....definitely get the chocolate lava surprise cake, feeds four easily for dessert. Breakfast Egg Soufles were great at the Starbucks knockoff, $8 for two and two lattes(High Grounds) JakesDel Mar for sunset and fish dinner, drinks at L'Berge, Kitchen 1540, outside at their firepit! But don't bother eating there, food very spotty.

Note to Military or military retirees...the Naval Air Station North Island on Coronado has reduced golf rates, kinda like playing Pebble Beach for under $40 with two holes right along the beach, one of the top rated beaches in the world...ID card, driver's liscense, and rental car agreement gets you thru the gate. Also camp Pendleton has a great course, same deal to get in, just make sure you pick the back gate off Douglas Ave to go in...the course is like a little oasis in the midst of barren wasteland...makes up for the Four Seasons course at $145 twilight, but it is a stunner Arnold Palmer design and worth it. Did not play Miramar, but heard it has recently been redone. If you want to play Torrey Pines, schedule at least 8 days in advance, tough to get on.

While it is true that Four Seasons will continue to operate and manage the Residence Clubs, the hotel dispute has to have some impact on the values of the timeshares. It all depends on what value you place on the amenities of the adjacent hotel. If the Aviara Hotel becomes managed by Dolce and not Four Seasons and/or the usage by the Residence Club guests are restricted this will have an impact.

This is a wonderful resort and property we have been coming to for years, but the future is a little uncertain. Buyers do need to be aware of this.

There were articles in the local news a month ago that Four Seasons has dropped their affiliation with Aviara, but the Aviara still tries to use the high reputation of Four Seasons to attract buyers. The value of these timeshares will drop significantly in the near future, if not already.

Just came back from the Four Seasons Aviara. It really is the best! Their service is incomparable. The grounds are really beautiful and huge. Their Italian restaurant onsite, Vivace, is excellent. For $44 a person, you get an appetizer, an entry, and desert. It's not cheap, but for the quality of food, the service, and the views, it's really a great value. Everyone from the person at the front desk, to the concierge, to the person who answers housekeeping is gracious, and makes the guests feel really welcomed. You get a free newspaper everyday, and daily housekeeping. They provide free gourmet coffee in the mornings in the lobby, and you can also check out DVDs for free from there. Unlike other timeshares that save on personal care products, the Four Seasons provide Bvlgari lotion/soaps, etc. The suite is about 300 - 400 sq. feet in size, furnished with a good size flat panel screen TV (32-in?), and a floor to ceiling window that looks out to the garden-like golf course (in our case). I just can't say enough good things about it...

There is a nice premium outlet in Carlsbad, about 10 minutes away, and many scenic attractions. The location is easy to find, and if you can avoid traffic hours on I-5, the drive there is about 2 hours from 2 LA.

Wonderful resort. Well appointed and large spacious rooms. Staff is very helpful and daily housekeeping is great. Definately the most upscale resort we have traded into--after 14 years of trading timeshares!! Traffic can be an issue here and must be factored in for day trips. Would love to come here again. Judy

My wife and I stayed at the Meadows 6/8/07- 6/15/07. If you want a beautiful place to stay and just relax – THIS IS IT! We felt totally pampered at the tranquility pool. It was not at all crowded. The restaurants were very good. Thirty minutes from downtown San Diego if you drive at the right time of day. A great stay – we will go back.

Just stayed at this resort and must say it is very nice. Went first week of October and stayed in the Meadows building, probably only 10 people at the pool at a time, very relaxing.

Units are large and have everything you would need and the staff is attentive to try to help with anything extra you may need.

We bought a 2 BR week sight unseen based on the reputation of 4 Seasons hotels. After spending a week there in the first week of August 05, we were so delighted that we bought another 2 BR Unit week.

The resort is absolutely fabulous. My children had a great time in the Hotel's game room, pools and the tennis courts. We loved the exclusive neighborhood and the unparalleled quality of service and attention to detail. The maintenance fees are a bit steep, but worth every penny if you see what you get for it.

We are awaiting their Costa Rica and Mexico Residence Clubs to be completed so that we can exchange there.

This is the ultimate place for fun and relaxation with the beautiful surroundings & amenities and impeccable service from the staff. I have timeshares at Marriott (Palm Desert and Newport Beach in California). This four Seasons residence club is in Major League if Marriott is in Minor League.

This is an outstanding resort. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The unit we stayed in had 2 BR and 2 1/2 baths (about 1700 sqft) Concierge service was excellent and daily maid service is included. (Both worthy of nice tip.)

The golf course was beautiful, exciting and difficult. Very fast greens! Reasonable for vacation golf with guest/owner discount.

However, it is somewhat isolated and can be expensive if you use the hotel services and restaurants. Seafood buffet was excellent but costs $40 pp. Spa excellent but $$$.

It is a bit of a drive to San Diego but La Jolla and the beach town of Carlsbad nearby (avoid rush hour(s) traffic.)

    Purchase prices are astronomical!

I own at Marriott Kaui and Sanibel Island Beach Club. Nothing compares. Not only Four Season's quality, ammenities, service but the San Diego area has so much to offer. Hotel rooms on property at resort are $275-350 per night. Highly recommend.

Had the ultimate relaxing experience as ever with Four seasons. Nothing is over looked and the attention to detail is unrivalled. Every guest is a VIP and the rooms are first class. We took a small baby and evrything had been thought of from swimming diapers to cots. Golf is excellent here.
