Locating the timeshare is a little challenging and a GPS is useful. Check in was prompt and the staff is friendly and helpful. We were RCI guests. All the units face the Gulf with a balcony off the living room, however there is a noisy busy four lane highway between the units and the sea and very little beach. There are nice wide sidewalks on both sides of the highway. The timeshare is about 30+ years old and the units are dated. There are large windows on one side allowing a spectacular view of the Gulf. New furniture is needed and is being replaced. The shower control knob broke and fell off and the staff repaired it immediately. Some faucets leaked. The carpet is stained and the suede cloth covering of the sofa bed and chair is soiled and worn. They were a bad choice to begin with. There is only one old TV. Some light bulbs were burned out and not all of the stove units worked. There is free slow wireless. The staff was willing to print out tickets, etc. There are many near by seafood restaurants. We visited the strand, saw a movie about the terrible 1900 hurricane at cruise ship dock, toured the Bishopâs Palace, Moody house and paid Tuesdayâs senior discount $5.00 per person to enter Moody Gardens Aquarium & Rain Forest each. There is much to see along with an adjoining water park. We also took a day to visit the Mission Control Johnson Space Center in Houston and touch the moon rock. In addition, Pleasure Island offers many rides for kids and on the way to Houston; there is a large discount shopping mall. Galveston offers plenty to do. It was a little cool the week were there.
