We returned home from OLCC on 6-26-04. What a relaxing vacation it was!! There were alot of vacationers, but none of the pools, beach area or lake were ever crowded. We hung around the resort most of the time, not like the last time when we went to Disney and other attractions in the area.

We stayed in the East Village which was a quiet area and exactly what we wanted! Most of the activities are at the West and North Villages. The villa was clean and well maintained, so were the grounds and places to eat. All in all we were pleased with everything! This is a great place to vacation whether you go to Disney or just stay at the resort.

With the addition of the new water park "River Island" set to open in 2005 there will be no reason to leave the resort for other water parks!!!

The overall look of the resort is lovely, with the largest pool we've ever had the pleasure of swimming in.

The unit had everything we needed, although the pots and pan supply was a little sparce. The condo we were in was a little older than what we generally have stayed in at other Gold Crown resorts. It was basically maintained well, and the one problem we had (sliding door did not lock properly) was fixed within an hour of our calling. The washer and dryer were old and too noisy to use at night as no one would be able to sleep. Ditto for the dishwasher.

Other than those minor inconveniences, everything else was first rate. We didn't spend much time at this resort because this family of 4 was busy with the theme parks, but did have a 'down day' which we put to good use in the pools, etc.

The 2BR unit was quite spacious, comfortable and pleasantly decorated and overlooked a golf course.

They do have some activities, such as bingo at the pool, and there is a large lake with boats and jet skis for rent. The mini golf course is also large and nicely laid out. There are other amenities that looked nice such as a game room and other things for kids in the club house, but again we never spent time there. All in all, quite a nice resort.

We just returned from OLCC on 4/1/04. I can tell you where to avoid. Stayed in unit 4023 on Lake Kem Way. The dishwasher fell out from under the counter. The screens were filthy, cobwebs everywhere, grimy tub floors, finger prints all over the glass tables. Broken screen door in the master bedroom. The unit had not even been thouroughly vacuummed. Our two year old found a cigar wrapper and some type of pill on the floor in the guest bedroom. Luckily he did not eat either. The area between the units where the trash cans are located were absolutely digusting ( for 7 days ). Diapers, styrofoam containers, and miscellaneous trash strewn everywhere. Needless to say after our obligatory sales pitch we were definitely not interested in "vacation ownership" at OLCC. Very disappointed... hopefully the newer units are cleaned and cared for better.

We bought a week 10 years ago, and now we own four. The idea was to exchange weeks and stay in different places each year. However, this place is so nice that I can't get my family to go anywhere else. In fact, my kids are all grown with children and they still want to come with us each year (especially the grandchildren, they absolutely LOVE the mini golf). You could spend two weeks here and never leave the property, it's THAT nice!

Just got back from a week at Orange Lake CC. Stayed in the North Village in a 2 Bedroom Villa.

The children loved to swim at Spalsh Lagoon and being close to the parks. The unit was nice and it backed up to the 'Legends Walk' par 3 golf course which stays open until 10 so be aware the lights stay on late.

ONLY negative was the sales pressure. We were called every morning for a 'free' breakfast. We finally went down and were pushed and pressured. It was like a used car sales lot. --AVOID if possible--

Orange Lake is a GREAT place that shouldn't have to 'resort' to this. I think it sells itself. They should go away from the pushy sales by commision and use an auction or fixed price listing sytem.

Therefore four out of five stars.

A very nice place to stay. The pool was excellent and they are building a bigger pool complex in 2005 with a lazy river. Should be awesome. They have a lot of amenities but we spent most of our time at the Parks and did not take advantage of what the resort had to offer.

The only downside was that they called every morning at 7:30 a.m. (we are late sleepers and finally got up one day that early just to answer the phone) to invite us to a breakfast. We finally decided to go and listen to the presentation because they told us we were under no obligation to purchase a timeshare. Unfortunately we were extremely pressured and somewhat belittled by our salesman. When we told him no we were not going to purchase, the price dropped about $8,000. (Originally they tried to sell us a timeshare for $20,000.) When we we still said no, he went and got his manager who dropped the price another $2,000 to $9,999. We still said no and then she tried to sell us a weeks vacation for $1500. They were SO persistent and pushy that we were really upset. Finally, they gave up and let us leave.

I think the resort speaks for itself. It is a great place and if guests like it they will buy time there. There is no need for such extreme sales tactics.

My parents bought two weeks here 2 years ago. The first two weeks of April. Little did I know how good a deal it was. We have 2 three bedrooms and man are they huge. We bring friends and family and still have a bed leftover. It is true you need a car, but you're really close to Animal Kingdom(the property backs up to it) and Blizzard Beach. I was told they may be adding a water slide to the club. I have twin daughters and I swear they'd rather hang out at the pools than go to Disnery World! We usually pick 3 days to do different parks and the rest of the time is at the resort. They even have their own lake that you can rent jet ski's and boats on. Have to go in a circle but it's still fun. My Mom actually likes the Bingo the best! ha. Nice dinner at the new clubhouse near the end of the resort. Also Grocery store and drugstore right at each entrance of the park. rick showalter Aurora, IL

I just returned from a week at OLCC. It is very close to Disney World and this made the family vacation a blast. The grounds of the resort were well kept. My only complaint was the maintenance staff did not repair a door in the bathroom that was loose on the hinges. Guest Services kept calling to find out if the work was done, but they seemed more interested in booking a sales tour. I would come back because the unit was perfect for 6 people and would like to play the golf courses at the resort.

We stayed at Orange Lake on our first visit to Florida. I was quite apprehensive as it was the furthest we had travelled, but there was no reason to worry. The resort was fantastic! The 2 bed villa was enormous, with every mod con you could wish for. Everywhere was clean, staff were fantastic, the choice of pools was vast, easy route to all attractions.......I could go on and on.

We've been back since and had a fantastic time but nothing compares to the magic of Orange Lake.

This is a resort to bring the whole family. So close to Disney & many, many amenities. The olympic size swimming pool is the best. If you just want to stay at the resort, there are many things to do. They even have a movie theater on site. You will never run out of things to do. A definate 2 weeker at this resort. One week for Disney & the other to relax or do about anything.

Exchanged into resort for a week. Had a 2 bedroom very large beautifully decorated unit. The resort was well kept and huge. Lots of room everywhere, which means you have to drive everywhere within the resort. We used the resort as a home base for visiting Disney World and other local attraction (which are all conveniently accessible) so we did not have much time to take advantage of the resorts extensive facilities.

The size of the resort and the fact that the unit did not have any little extras(dishwashing liquid, paper towels or coffee filters) were the only drawbacks. If you want to go to Orlando and just stay in one place and relax this is the resort to pick.
