This is absolutely without question the nicest resort we have ever stayed at. The facilities and the pools are beautiful, and it even has a little lake with a gorgeous white sandy beach! Our condo was huge and clean and nicely decorated. We'll definitely come back to Orange Lake!

Stayed in Feb 06 in the older part of the resort. 2 bed unit was clean, kitchen could have been better stocked. The whirlpool was small compared to a lot of others I have been to. Very well taken care of grounds and if you golf they are well equipped for you. If you are looking for a pool close to your unit, you should ask ahead because the resort is so big that you have to take your vehicle or their shuttle to most of it and their are quite a few areas that don't have any pool close by. The new part River Island is wonderful with the pools and the lazy river which are all heated. You can't ask for much better there. You do have to pay for the watersports and even tubes for the lazy river which can add up for the week but all in all a good place.

We were there for the builders show, and exchnaged through rci. We were in the new area, everything was nice and clean. I think limiting you to 3 dishwasher packets and 1 paper towel ect. is a little ridiculous. When we left there was dirty dishes left in the dishwasher. I would have been glad to have washed had there been soap provided. The resort had a lot to do for families. Everything was very convienient. We were not pressured into going to a sales presentation. We just said no thanks. The resort is very close to all the parks and lots of resteraunt choices.... We were near the pools; Everything convenient for our parents whom came along to enjoy the resort while we worked. Would stay there again.

We just did an "Extra Vacation" week at Orange Lake through RCI, paid only $350 for 7 nights in a gorgeous two bedroom villa, two full baths, full kitchen with washer/dryer, microwave, the works. You are only minutes from Disney (if that is your thing) and about 15-20 minutes from Sea World and Universal Studios (where we went on a week long pass for $170 for the two of us). Amenities are in abundance at Orange Lake, as are pools (8 of them throughout the resort), restaurants and things to do on even a rainy day (e.g., ping pong, shuffleboard, pool, a game room, fitness center and acres of beautiful golf courses!) A Publix market is practically right on the premises so getting groceries is a breeze. They even have a free nightly movie featured in their own private theater that is mostly family themed.

We went in October so (thankfully for us!), kids were not in abundance. We are at that place in life where we value a quieter pace and Orange Lake fit the bill for us at this time of year. The few minor maintenance needs we had were fixed within an hour and we had several marketing calls to come take a tour but they were polite when we declined and did not persist. Definitely worth staying there if you want a HUGE apartment that is in the midst of some beautiful wildlife (we had two egrets visiting us daily for treats on our back patio). They also have good security and make you feel quite welcome.

We actually visted in early August 2006. It was great. We had a unit in the West Village of which some say are old and unwanted. That's not true. They are great. I wouldn't change my reservation for the world. You can't get any better than parking six feet from your own door and driveway. Sure, the funiture and and some of the appliances aren't as new as they are in the other villages(we did a tour) but the West village hosts the best pools, etc... Everthing was clean and worked. We went on an exchange and we couldn't be happier

My family and I had an absoulute great time at orange lake. Golfing was great. Our unit was one of the new river island units. It was BEAUTIFUL! It was a two bedroom. Clean and spotless. The pools were great but can be crowded.(Get there early) We rented the mouse boat (my husband and son did) the people on the jetskis were going to fast and were right on top of us and they threw huge wakes. Definetly would go back and reccommend it.

We just returned from this place...WOW...WOW!!!!!

We were fortunate enouh to luck out and get the villas by the new Lzy River pool complex. It was fantastic, spotless, and the employees were great! Food - ???? Grocery store very close by.

The resort is HUGE - we had such a wonderful time enjoying Disney (10 min. drive away) and our section of the resort, so I can not comment on the other two pools and beach. However, we ate dinner at Kimmon's Place - an all you can eat Prime Rib Buffet - DO NOT DO IT!! I had two teenage boys and my husband - we all agreed that the Prime Rib was HORRIBLE!! (Unless you enjoy chewing on shoe leather!) It cost us over $120.00 to NOT enjoy our meal. After that horrible meal, we chose NOT to eat anywhere else on the resort. We were going to reserve dinner for the Luau, but were afraid to.

As far as smoking - there is no smoking allowed in the units - very nice - I just wish that they didn't permit smoking on the patios as well...we had neighbors that smoked what seemed to be non-stop...and we couldn't enjoy our deck - we were choking on their smoke every single time we tried to sit outside. So, if you smoke - go ahead - but be respect other people's air space!

We have been owners at Orange Lake Country Club for 14 years and we are just amazed that it keeps getting better! Bigger, better units, more pools and restaurants. Well-maintained and clean resort.

Very safe, friendly, family-oriented resort. Planned activities each day for any age to enjoy.

We have been able to invite many family and friends to share this beautiful resort with us. Several of which have now become owners also.

BEWARE IF ANYONE IN YOUR PARTY SMOKES OR HAS A SMOKE SMELL ON THEIR CLOTHES.

My wife smoked on our patio during the stay, NEVER in the unit. We lost A $250 credit card charge for this. Why put ashtrays in all the units then? In my book I consider this theft by the resort. After we returned home we called and discussed this. They did not listen what so ever. If we went to a local restrauant or bar in the orlando area and returned with the smoke smell on our clothes would we also lose the deposit? We love the resort but because of the theft by orange lake of the $250 we will not being staying there in the future. We have stayed there the last 4 years.

When I were there on the first day our one year grandson had a toy go under the sofa. We moved it to get the toy and found an OLD sandwich which was there for sometime. Shows what kind of job the cleaning staff is doing but they can charge $250 to get the so called smoke smell removed from the unit!

We've started plans to sell the unit.

Grounds were beautiful however the villa's were definitely lacking. Wasn't very clean, killed several bugs, toaster didn't work, shower curtain missing in one bathroom (housekeeping did replace after we called), neither shower drained properly, couldn't get sliding glass door to lock & sprinkler head outside was busted. It's my understanding that we were in the old section so maybe the new section is better. Also there is not a pool by the villa. They have big pools at the main club houses, but not in the different sections. We won't be staying there again.

OLCC is an exceptional resort with outstanding amenities, restaurants, indoor activities and well manicured, spacious grounds. OLCC offers many alternatives to going to the Disney and Universal parks.

We have been going to OLCC for 18 years and we have always been very pleased with our stay. And we are not golfers! We have exchanged to many Gold Crown locations and no resort has outshined Orange Lake to date. We are always happy to be back home.

The units are very large with quality furnishings that make you feel at home and not want to leave. The 2 Bedroom unit is very spacious and the 3 Bedroom unit is spectacular.

We visited Orange Lake in November and enjoyed it so much that our friends and ourselves each purchased units.

Yes the resort is large, but it has everything and it is easy to move around and the pools etc are well laid out. If you're a golfer this is the location for you, from easy to difficult.

With the new Wild River opening in 2006 this resort will most certainly be a great choice for families

With all the options for lodging in Orlando, this has been my least favorite so far. First the positives: We stayed in a new unit that was very nicely decorated and roomy for the most part. The staff was helpful and friendly although a little harassing when it came to sales. The pools were nice and not extremely crowded. That is truly all the nice things I have to say. The negatives: The place is very poorly laid out. It is a major walk or drive to get to amenities. The amenities themselves leave a lot to be desired. The central common area is dirty, shabby, and not well stocked. The pools are a hike to get to and the grounds leave a lot to be desired. It is definitely one of the older timeshare communities in the area and it shows. Orange Lake really needs updating to stay competitive. We won't stay here again.

This is the best resort that we have stayed at. You don't even have to leave resort, there is so much to do here. 80 acre lake to fish, boat, jet ski and so much more, mini golf, 5 star golf course, tennis, racket ball, volleyball and the list just goes one. There are 4 pools and hot tubs around the resort. Restaurants, sports bar and outdoor grill, health club and a whole bunch of activities for the kids for all ages. This is truely a funfill place for singles to families. Enjoy, we have for many years and will keep coming back.

Just came back from a stay here. First off must say, was a new unit, interior was beautifully decorated. Quite lovely. Everything still smelled new.

HOWEVER. The resort is so darn huge (23 acres) and every street and unit looks the same - a map is required and even then it was confusing. Golf carts took precedent over walkers, which is unfortunate considering you have to really hike to get anywhere, including the Tram stop. (The place is so huge it has to have regular tram runs to help folks get from one section to the next!)

If you don't mind big and impersonal this is the place for you. However if you would like to have your kids play outside without getting bonked with a golf ball, or having to hike or ride to the playground, this is NOT the place to stay. You can get rooms just as nice in a smaller resort - I know as we've done it.

OH - and the sales staff lies through their teeth and then are QUITE rude if you make it clear you do not want to buy. We told them on the phone we had no intention of buying - they said no problem, come for a buffet breakfast, just come to counter on the left. WELL - they drive you out there, then show you a counter with donuts and fruit - (not what we expected) then you go through a movie and sales pitch ANYWAY - when we complained were told "Nothing is free - you should have known that if we were giving you food you were going to have to sit through a sales pitch. The telemarketers get $10 every time somebody agrees to come to breakfast so of course they are going to tell you whatever will get you here". We wasted two hours in a very unhappy situation while we could have had a nice breakfast on our own back at the unit.

We own four timeshares and have sat through many sales pitches. These folks take the cake as far as rudeness, lying, OH - and the "Gift" is $30 to spend AT THE RESORT. This after having been told we could use it towards Disney tickets on the original phone call from them.

Can you tell I will never visit this resort again?

My family and I first vacationed at Orange Lake 7 years ago. We went there because friends of ours were owners and wanted us to see the place. We have come back each year and have been very satisified. We now own two different units and have stayed in each of the different Villages. We have exchanged to other locations many times and nothing compares to our Orange Lake experience. Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, are nice locations and fun, but Orange Lake is the best. The security person that meets you at the gate and the sign that says welcome home at night indicate how special you feel when at Orange Lake.

We own a unit in the North Village and it is right on the lighted golf course. Beautiful screened in patio over looking a small pond and clean as a whistle. We also own in the older West Village and enjoy the activity at the Main pool including Bingo at 2 pm in the afternoon (I won $80). The West area has the same furnishings as the newer North Village.

Yes Orange Lake is big and growing but we still feel secure and enjoy the wholesome family atmosphere. The new River Island adventure will be open next year 2006 when we go and that looks exciting.

Last year we had 36 friends and family members with us for the week. Some came in on the promotional visit. They all had their own units and two of them bought their own after the week. Next year they will all be returning because we had such a great time.

We were there in October each year and the Disney Parks were not crowded at that time. It made it alot easier on the days we went to Disney. Fireworks could be seen each night from our timeshare, which was nice for the little ones.

All in all I can't see how anyone wouldn't have a great time at Orange Lake.

My family stayed at Orange Lake in 2000. As I recall, the room was OK. However, the resort is massive. I don't mean that in a good way either. It's too big. You have to walk forever, ride a bus, or drive your vehicle to most of the pools and/or activities. Not my idea of a good time.

Our family and many friends have been vacationing at Orange Lake Resort for many years. We purchased a two bedroom unit on our first visit there in the mid 90's. We were staying with friends who already owned two weeks there. We then purchased a second week the next year while vacationing there.

We have traded up and now own two 3 bedroom units and have loved every week we spent there. This was the perfect spot for someone with children, young or old young. Our oldest daughter (who's now married and has children) liked it so much they bought their own week there.

We have occasionally traded and visited other sites and found many nice timeshare vacation spots, but still think you can not beat what Orange Lake has to offer. It is a hugh resort with many, many things to do. Except maybe to dinne out occasionally, or purchase grocries you never really have to leave resort once there.

Althought we are looking to sell our units at this time, it has absolutely nothing to do with the resort itself. We have been visiting Florida for nearly 28 years and now want to spend more time out west. It has been like living in a beautiful home, but sooner or later you move on just for the change of scenery.

We do still plan to spend at least one more week there in Feb 06, inviting the brothers and sisters along for a winter reunion away from the snow.

Just returned from OLCC on March 6/05. Stayed in a unit in the Tennis Villas-next to the clubhouse. Our unit was infested with bedbugs!!! I had bites everywhere and missed out on 3/4 of my vacation--pool time, swimming, etc. because I couldn't wear a bathing suit with all the welts and bites I had. The manager of Member Services found us another unit, but had to "forward our complaint to LEGAL DEPT> for review to see if it had merit. I have pictures--. Be aware that OLCC is not always as lovely as it appears. I'm still itching, and so is my husband.

Where do I begin? Let's see...we checked in the night BEFORE our week began... (we rented a queen quad $99 for one night since our flight had gotton in at midnight). We were originally told we could sleep in since we were staying there for the week..... but the next morning they were very rude and said it was not possible.... we had to be OUT BY 10 AM SHARP! No flexibility at all. OKAY.. so.. we get our bags.. bring them to the "holding room" til our room is ready (which we were told would be ready early as well.. but wasn't ready til after 4..so we lost that day) The check-in person tells us that there are no rooms near the pools. Now..... I was told when I booked months ahead that I would have something "near" the pools/restaurant etc because I am recovering from foot surgery (in a cari-cast) and thyroid surgery (I have thyroid cancer as well). Had they not been honest with me I would NEVER had booked with this place. I realize places cannot guarantee an exact location .. but they are usually pretty good about an area. WELL... We were put in an area in the old golfing villas... a good 10 MINUTE WALK for GOOD feet!! geesh!! Needless to say unless you DROVE you didn't see the pools.. so we never used them. Thank God we were doing the "Disney" thing that week so we were busy anyways. Not only were the units old but ill equipped... supposed to sleep 8 (we had 5)...they gave us SIX towels HOW CHEAP!! I've never seen a place so cheap! The kitchen floor was dirty, the toaster was so tired it was standing on one leg and the pots and pan (only ONE) were from 1952! Even the utensils were so thin and flimsy it was tough to flip a pancake! The TV in the 2nd bedroom was so old I'm surprised it was in color... it had all kinds of dirty glass rings on top of it... gross! Honestly.....I was embarassed for them! We, like everyone else, did the "c'mon buy one breakfast"... were treated nice enough until the guy realized we WEREN"T going to buy.. then he got very rude! It was not a good experience at all.. I came to realize unless you OWN at Orange Lake.... they could care less about you! It's like a "class" system and we (RCI traders) were the peons:) And it's funny... even the activities.. which are supposed to be "so great" ... were dissapointing. I mean come ON.. My 18 yr old can play bingo at the casinos here in Ct... but NOT at Orange Lake.. you have to be 21 !! Give me a BREAK!! It's overpriced, overbuilt, and snobby! You couldn't PAY me to stay there again.....
