The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas Reviews & Ratings

I stayed at The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas for a week through a timeshare booking, and it worked out really well overall. The beachfront location on Ka’anapali Beach is the biggest draw—beautiful views, great snorkeling, and easy access to long walks along the shore. The villas are spacious and well-equipped (full kitchen, washer/dryer, balcony), which made it ideal for a longer stay. It definitely feels more like a condo-style resort than a traditional hotel.

Overall, I’d recommend it for families or anyone who wants space, amenities, and a great beachfront setting.

We have owned this unit since the resort was built, and the resort has continued to update all units in a timely fashion. The grounds and pools are well maintained. The staff has always been knowledgeable and helpful. Ocean Front units have spectacular views.

The setting on Ka’anapali Beach is simply stunning. Every day starts with the sound of the ocean and ends with incredible sunsets right from the property. Having an ocean view from the lanai made a huge difference—it’s one of those details that turns a good trip into a memorable one.

What we especially loved is that this isn’t a typical hotel stay. The villa setup—with a full kitchen, living space, and washer/dryer—makes it easy to settle in and actually relax. It’s perfect for longer stays or for anyone who values space and comfort over a standard hotel room.

The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with multiple pools, a great beach for swimming and snorkeling, and plenty of options for dining or simply unwinding. It strikes a nice balance between being family-friendly and still feeling calm and upscale.

The location is another big plus. You’re close to Whalers Village, great restaurants, and activities, but the resort still feels like a peaceful retreat away from the crowds.

If you’re looking for a place in Maui that combines space, comfort, and a true beachfront experience, this is an excellent choice. We would absolutely come back—and next time, we wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else.

We LOVE the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, the views are incredible, the amenities are fantastic and staff are so kind. It truly is the most beautiful place on earth!

I have been to Maui over 50 times, and have stayed a several other condominium. I believe the Westin at Ka’anapali is simply the best on the island

Ocean View 2 Bedroom unit. One bedroom and studio in separate units but same hallway access door. Both units have kitchen facilities and the one bedroom has washer and dryer. These are much larger than a hotel room.

My family have owned this Timeshare since it was built. We absolutely love this resort! We’ve made so many memorable family trips through the years.

This location is on the beautiful Kaanapali Beach in Maui. The sand is the softest and most beautiful in all of the Hawaiian Islands and the beach extends for 3 miles and you can walk on the beach or stop at different resorts for a bite to eat or sip on a mocktail or cocktail, depending on your preference. The Westin has many amenities such as pool, gym, steam, and sauna available for use at your leisure. Amazing sunsets, and go to the local Foodland for fresh poke!

absolutely love this location. Plus you have use of Westin's two other resorts just minutes from you walking down the path or the beach, along with Duke's Restaurant (on the beach) at the end of the 3rd resort.

Our family has been coming here for over years for 20 years. The location is great and and the beach in front of the resort is beautiful and a great place to experience a Maui sunset. There is a great boardwalk that you can access on the beachside of the resort where you can walk to several restaurants and to the very popular Black Rock. There is a shuttle that runs from the resort to Whalers Village, which has several great restaurants (Leilani's, Monkeypod and Hula Grill) and shopping. Enjoy your stay!

Beautiful resort in Ka'anapali! The pools are amazing, and taking a morning or evening stroll on the beach walk is our favorite way to start and end our days in Maui. It also gives access to the beach, as well as connects to the other Westin resorts. Guests are allowed to use the other Westin pools. The villas are spacious, bright and perfect for couples and families. The staff have always been amazing! We look forward to returning each year!

We have stayed at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas for many years and love everything about the resort. The resort has been maintained very well and the staff's attention to detail can be experienced at every turn. The rooms are well maintained and the furniture is constantly being replaced / upgraded. The grounds are in fantastic shape and the beach is the best part of the resort. The water right in front of the Villas provides some of the best snorkling on the Island. We have seen everything from turtles to a Hawaiian Stingray. Our daughters have enjoyed the resort from the time they were 8 and 10. Plenty to do for kids of all ages and the safety / security of this smaller resort allows them to walk around and make friends with other teenagers.
