I purchased at this property and closed in Nov. However, Fairfield did not finish processing me as the new owner until March. Some of the points with my purchase did not transfer, so the sellers made a one week reservation for me as a guest with the non- transferrable points. We enjoyed our stay. Buyer beware...you will be asked to meet with someone to survey if the facility is meeting your needs. Too good to me true...it's a sales pitch. I received a verbal hand smacking for purchasing outside Fairfield. Obviously, I got a great deal! Do not buy into the suppliments. 154,000 points and you are good to go. Rent weeks off REdWeek if you want a longer stay.

Although my wife and I have stayed here on two previous occassions in year's past , as RENTERS from a Fairfield Grand Desert owner through RedWeek.com, we jumped at the opportunity to PURCHASE a 105,000 point deed from a different owner earlier this year on ebay for a fraction of what the sales presentation tour price that was quoted to us. ($2,000 on ebay vs $16,000 sales pitch)

This week is our first week's stay at Grand Desert as owners and we could not be any happier with our choice. This is a wonderful resort with lots of amenities and the staff has been very helpful and courteous under the new owner of Wyndham. While 105,00 points isn't a lot .... it's nice to know that should we decide to come back again after our 105k points are used up .... we can always rent another week from an owner at Grand Desert for around $100 per night or less for a one bedroom deluxe, without the burden of paying additional maintenance fees. Sort of like having one's cake and eating it too!!!

    Thank you RedWeek!!

rooms were not as nice as i thought they would be, furnishings need to be either cleaned or replaced, the room smelled of old fried fish and after calling the desk 3 times the answer was to give us a can of airfreshener, that isnt the way 4.5 star resorts would handle that. it took almost 6 hours before that was even offered, the kitchen cupboard door was falling off and 3 people said they were coming up to fix it but no one did, the linens were very ratty, torn and very dingy and there was a nasty cleaning rag left on our bed..again not a 4.5 star resort, the pool was nice and it was very quiet there, about 10 minutes to strip, I would say the resort all in all was nice but the staff was not very attentive and did not follow through with simple requests, I would rate this a 3 star resort...

Stayed for two weeks (April 19-May 4th) in a one bed room apartment. First week was an RCI trade and the second week purchased through RED Week.

Prior to checking I contacted the resort to ensure that two booking swcould be linked a a single room assigned for the full stay. While I couldn't do that I was told that they could / would do it on checkin. Indeed this was arranged after getting a manager to do all the necessary computer mangling on check-in. I have had experiences with this at other resorts, usually finding that at the end of the first week that keys stop working and the staff are knocking on the doors and ringing up to find out why we are leaving. This time everything worked.

We had a great view of the strip from the Stratosphere to Planet Hollywood. Could see (but not hear) the planes landing at the airport.

Under tower parking was easy and convenient as was the location. No more than 10-15 minutes to any strip location even during heavy traffic.

Pool area was pleasant and well maintained as was most of the resort areas that I visited.

Room and service were haphazard. We didn't get a mid week service in the second week and three out of the four lights in the bed room didn't work. We weren't there enough for it really matter but shows a lack of care and checking. Unit was clean for our arrival.

One bedroom units have poor living room design. The TV cabinet doors don't slide into the cabinet and can't be folded back because of the table location and a light fitting. Frustrating if you want to use the table and watch TV.

Kitchen was well equiped but waste disposal unit didn't seem to work...or maybe it didn't have one?

Would stay here again. Good value for money given the accomodation location and quality.

First point - this is now a Wyndham NOT a Fairfield. Fairfield has sold out to Wyndham along with RCI and Trendwest, as we were told upon check-in.

We are at the resort as I write this and we would probably NOT return to this resort. While the accommodations are spacious the finish is not what I would have expected. With Fairfield selling out I feel that they did not maintain the units as they would have had they been planning on keeping the resort. Drawers and counters were stained. Formica conters in kitchen in baths should be replaced with minimum Corian, better with granite. Pools only get sun at high noon due to being surrounded by buildings. If you are a sunworshipper, while the pools are nice, they do not get much sun. Activities on site are good, location is good, but the majority of the staff has a poor attitude. Check in took forever and aftger checking in they make you stand in another line for your "Welcome Pack" (razors and gum) and then they pressure you into a tour to again pressure youi into a purchase. I do own a Disney timeshare and I would never consider one here. Internet was a joke. We had to "sign up" ($19.95 FOR 3 DAYS) 3 times and had to call back every time we wanted to use it as it would "loose" our log on info. Housekeeping was sub par (hair on bathroom floors, stains on counters, drawers). We also had a security issue. While watching TV one evening we heard someone outside our door trying to get in with a key. After a few attempts the womona walked into our room and apologized quickly and walked out. I immediately called security and they recoded our keys and claimed that our door must not have been properly closed and the woman must have just mistakenly walked in. My husband and I both heard the woman trying a few keys before she gained access so be aware and place valuables at the front desk. While we might consider this place for a more reasonable rate, at $250 per night I would stay at a strip hotel instead.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at this resort. It was the first time we stayed at a timeshare. It was fabulous! The Grand Desert was clean, we had a 2 bedroom and it was very spacious. We have 3 small children and there were various activities for the kids. The pools were excellent. Location was a great! We lived in Vegas for 4 years, so we knew the location would be great. Either a 10 minute walk or a 2 minute drive to the strip.

This was one of our best family vacations due in large part with the accommodations. We will absolutely stay at the Grand Desert the next time we visit Vegas!

Very happy with our experience. Highlight was when concierge helped us when we double booked ourselves one night for two shows and were told there were no refunds by the boxoffice. She phoned and in minutes, switched one pair of tickets. Awesome service.

Internet wireless access did not work (we had to go to 3rd floor snack bar to get service.)

I vacationed at the Grand Desert in Sept. 2006 for 5 days. It was great. The resort is one of my favorites and this is my 3rd visit to Vegas. I've stayed at the Resort twice. While there, I even upgraded and purchased a deed at the Resort. I was very pleased and impressed with the service. The staff was friendly and helpful, the bell boy/girl assisted us with our luggage. The rooms were excellent, spacious, and clean. We had 2 units. One was a 3 bedroom and another unit was the 2 bedroom Presidential Suite with an awesome balcony. I have been so impressed with the overall Resort, that I brought my mom and my mother-in-law. We even took an excursion tour of the Hoover Dam which included a boat tour of Lake Meade, dinner was included in the package deal. I will definitely make this one of my yearly trips in the future. We even toured the other hotels/casinos daily by metro rail and cashed in on getting lots of free gifts. After visiting all the other hotels/casinos, it was nice to return to a nice, quiet, and smoke-free smell RESORT. I highly recommend this resort to all.

Just returned from a week at the Grand Desert and stayed in Tower 3 (Torre) with a wonderful view of the strip! We are owners and returning for our 4th year. The resort is maintained beautifully and staff was excellent and responsive to any calls or requests. The business center was open every day with a staff person on hand to assist! No cost to use the computers (4 available!). Very nice gym on site but did not use.

The resort is in a great location, right behind the MGM Grand. We ate at Ellis Island often (recommended by a staff person), although an older casino, the food was very reasonable, good, ample servings, and recommend the Caesar salad!!

Pluses for the resort - love having a washer and dryer right in the unit, a welcome bag that included great gifts including toothpaste, the business center at no costs, and no noises heard at all from other units.

Minus- the schuttle was running only every 30- 40 mins without a schedule. The weather was cold and in the mid 30s.

A great place to stay. This is definitely one of our favorites!

Great resort! No need for a car in Vegas when staying at Grand Desert. Shuttle bus runs to Harrah's (mid-strip) every 20 minutes.

Activities department very efficient and helpful. Trips to the grocery store (where guests get a discount) exclude need for a car.

Plenty of activities at the resort, plus outside trips for golf, Liberace Museum, Red Rocks Canyon, etc. Short walk to Ellis Island casino/resuarant for $4.99 steak dinner or breakfast for under $3. Ten minute walk to MGM Grand to catch the monorail.

    Great place to stay!!

Nice rooms but staff helpfulness is hit-or- miss. We had to change rooms twice: the first time because we were given a room with the absolute longest walk possible (even though we specifically requested close to elevators for limited mobility reasons), the second time because wireless internet doesn't work on upper floors. If you need it, request a lower level unit. Bellmen were terrific! But Conceirge was most unhelpful and would have charged us triple for wheelchair rental if we had gone through him.

We just returned from a 5 night stay. It was WONDERFUL! Check-in was a breeze. We were asked only once if we wanted to attend an informational meeting, which we said no to. Everything was so clean. We had a 2 bedroom unit in tower two that we shared with another couple and we had plenty of room. Our view wasn't the prettiest, ( we overlooked a parking lot across the street),but it was no big deal. After all, we were in VEGAS...so much more to do than hang around looking out our windows! We were surprised how close we were to the strip. It was only a 10 minute walk to The Aladdin. This is an absolutely beautiful resort and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I stayed here in Jan. '06 for a week with two friends. We were in a three bedroom/3 bath penthouse in the new tower. It was absolutely beautiful!!! Our bedrooms overlooked a beautiful view of the strip. I got up three times during the 1st night just to look out the window. We had a fireplace in the living room and a very large kitchen (cherry cabinets, I think) with granite counter tops and double door refrigerator, also with cherry wood inserts. Dining room table seats about 10. The entrance hall had a closet large enough for many many items. We used the limo (we're platnum) almost every day, including trips to and from the airport. The resort runs a van to a nearby grocery store several times each morning and the shuttle to Harrah's was very convenient. The congciere staff was very helpful. We didn't participate in many of the on-site activities as we had other things of interest. We did attend breakfast on the 1st morning. The limo drivers were very cordial and accommodating. Of course, you are expected to tip the drivers. We also used cabs to come back to the timeshare several evenings, which were readily available. We had a wonderful week and will definitely return. We are Fairfield owners here and at several other Fairfield properties. We have had wonderful experiences with Fairfield and are happy owners.

A wonderful vacation and so close to the strip! Very clean and all the employees were pleasant. We had a great view from the penthouse suite.

My only dislike was when we changed rooms and leave our bags at the desk- I feel they could have just let us put them in the new room rather then lug them all around.

We stayed here for a week the end of January. Very nice resort, and it's still fairly new, so nothing appears very worn. Very quiet, peaceful. Nice amenities and beautiful pool. The 45 minute update presentation took two and a half hours, so beware. I'd rent a car if you stay here because you can't walk every where.

The place is really immaculate, the interior design is sophisticated, I rented a 2BDRM and everything inside the unit is gorgeous specially the master bedroom. My husband never left the place during our stay and enjoys the pool and the jacuzzi. One thing i like here best is no sales people will insist on attending the presentation. Once you said "NO" they will leave you alone, i like that! Next thing is this place is really for the whole family to enjoy and have fun. Since i've tried what's it to stay here, i will surely comeback and will recommend to my family to check it out! The only thing they need to IMPROVE here is the front desk check-in. It took us almost 45 minutes just to find our room even if i handed over my confirmation letter. Its like finding a needle in a hay stack, other than that, everything is VERY GOOD!

Just got back from Fairfield (8/29). Every thing was really nice. Had a 2 bedroom which is actually 2 rooms.Plenty enough room for six adults. The place is about 3 blocks from the strip which is not too bad to walk in tennis shoes. Check in went Great!Front desk was very helpful and curtious. There is a shuttle from Fairfield to Harrahs about every 20 minutes but last run is 12:30 am (which is like mid-day there!!) There is alot of demolition/construction around the area going on so there is not much of a view around Fairfield. We were also informed that you need to order the airport shuttle 24hrs in advance. It was easy to hail a cab at the street. all in all had a GREAT TIME and will go back again.
